@GatsbyJS @jasonbahl @tylbar I watched the demo them checked out the repo installation instructions and it didn’t seem obvious to me how Gatsby was actually running in the preview, and if the same domain was hosting Gatsby and WordPress.
@cklosowski @sebd86 @scottbolinger Ugh, yes I’m going to be rolling out a major change to a plug-in I maintain and was planning on doing exactly this. I foresee a lot of support requests in my future. 😱

@enqueue_russ @isvictoriousss @dimensionmedia Well I think a lot of this goes back to the days when there wasn’t some of the core APIs that exist today. Also, given the long-lived content of the internet you find WordPress how-to’s from 10 years ago that don’t follow today’s best practices.
@isvictoriousss @enqueue_russ @dimensionmedia Yeah, I wouldn’t personally use a plugin like this, but just like @enqueue_russ mentioned using version control is not an option for some.
@dimensionmedia Ugh, I always look at separating theme from site functionality. My code usually ends up at the very least in a Must Use Plugin, unless what I’m doing should be tightly coupled with the theme.
@endomondo so apparently the service is down? Can’t login and my app won’t upload my run for today along with it’s photo.
