@photomatt @ChrisWiegman I really question that people going to Wix/SquareSpace are the same people willing to spend $5K on a site build. What metrics are you using to make that assessment?
@jarodpeachey @FonsecaFrancis8 Have you signed up for your marathon yet? I’d definitely connect with a running group like @FonsecaFrancis8 mentions. I’d also recommend using a training plan that includes easy days and interval runs along with your weekly long run. You want to slowly build up to longer runs.
@hashim_warren Hmm, which model is that? I’ve been very tempted to get a new Logitech trackball since my deaktop trackpad has become less usable on my Linux machines.
@photomatt @ChrisWiegman Tell me what the goal, or the point, is of providing this service if the expectation is that it has no impact on the agency ecosystem that surrounds WordPress?
@ChrisWiegman @royboy789 Yeah, very true. I think what feels like has stood out for me with WordPress is the community. I don’t know if I’ve just missed it in other platforms/languages if worked in or if it truly is unique to WordPress.
@royboy789 @ChrisWiegman Ha we do that at work too, but we’ve been investing more time and hiring in the WordPress space over the last year since there have been more and more build projects. Our specialty is Government & Non-profits so we are probably buffered to a degree from this.
@ChrisWiegman @royboy789 Actually, I’ve done a bit of Laravel work in the past so it wouldn’t be hard to get up-to-speed again. What is disappointing is that I’ve worked on the side for the past 15 years want to get into WordPress fulltime and I’ve finally arrived there in the last year. Now what.
